Position overview: 
The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing parts in line with the sourcing strategy at the lowest total cost.  Outstanding collaboration with Supply Chain, Sourcing, Sales & Marketing, and Customer Support Teams is critical to achieve the objectives.

Roles and Responsibilities 
The Sourcing Specialist will be responsible of the following:
  • Plan and track RFQs to meet required timelines with discipline and accountability
  • Complete gap analysis and total cost analysis on all quotes obtained
  • Negotiate cost and lead-times with suppliers
  • Leverage analytics and best practices to create process efficiencies
  • Collaborate with strategic sourcing team on supplier roadmaps and strategies
  • Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Communicate with internal customers and external suppliers  
  • Assist in cost recovery for vendor-related quality/delivery issues
 
Key Competencies: 
The ideal candidate should have the following competencies:
  • Knowledge of materials management, supply chain, and purchasing 
  • Ability to understand both strategic and tactical goals, and act appropriately
  • Experienced negotiator
  • Ability to review engineering drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of material requirements (dimensional, physical, and chemical)
  • Understanding of supply contracts and related terms and conditions
  • PC proficient, working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Effective communication skills and a team player
  • Good organizational skills – ability to prioritize and problem solve independent of supervision 
  • Ability to exercise and apply critical thinking to day-to-day situations 
  • Ability to perform cost/benefit analysis
  • Understanding specific cost drivers of those products under his/her responsibility, and how changes in market conditions can affect them
  • NetSuite and Tableau experience preferred
 
Skills and Qualifications: 
You will thrive working in Optimas if you have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or similar field preferred
  • 2-3 years of Sourcing and/or Purchasing experience required - Fastener experience preferred
  • Experience working directly with industrial manufacturing suppliers
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and supply chain concepts - APICS, CPIM, NAPM certification a plus
  • Customer first mentality
  • Excellent English communication skills – written and spoken 
  • A strong work ethic, adaptability to an evolving work environment, and a desire to learn
  • Willingness to perform work functions in other areas to meet customer demands
  • Organized individual who can prioritize and multitask
  • Able to travel for meetings and/or trainings from time to time
